I went to Spain- Pamplona and Galicia- when I was a Junior in high school. My lovely spanish hermana, Itziar, took me to a Mecano concert.
It was incredible. The song that haunted me ever afterwards was Hijo de la luna , which, if you know me, has all the elements I love:
drama
magic
beautiful music
tragic love
I was browsing the rumor mill and I saw that Marie Brennan of Doppelganger (excellent book, very fresh take on witches with a bit of sci-fi thrown in) fame was inquiring about the legality of using that song as a basis for a story.
So of course I had to go listen to the song on Youtube.
And now *I* want to write a story about it….
If you want to write a story about it, I’m afraid you will have to visit Spain again…
In return I will visit Seattle to see if I can find Doctor Shepherd!

I remember that song – we played the HECK out of it after you got back from Spain.
Writing the story sounds like a great excuse for a trip. It would be a write off, right?
If you find Dr. Shepard, please hold on to him and we’ll just see which one of us gets to him first, Itziar or me.

Dear h,
that’s taking unfair advantage…
Kirsten, I know you don’t waste your time watching tv shows, but Derek deserves a look (Grey’s Anatomy, on ABC, Thrusdays 9/8c)
